Welcome

Joy Butler-Markham with Cliff Richard at Manacare's Hope and Dreams Village

Since its formation in 1994 the Manacare Foundation charity has provided help and support for those most in need, particularly children and the elderly in 12 countries around the world.

At times responding to emergencies, Manacare has also set up and manages longer -term self-sustaining projects and centres.

The organisation, formed by Joy Butler Markham, in 1994, initially with the help of a private donation, continues to address the needs of those individuals most neglected by society or state, especially in the field of disability.

Sometimes big problems just need small solutions.

Handicapped children in Egypt…
Helping to re-build Sri Lanka after the Tsunami…
Educating street children in the Philippines…
Preventing child prostitution in China…
Babies orphaned in Siberia…
War torn Lebanon…
Starving babies with AIDS in Malawi…
Raped babies in Africa…
Toddlers feeding from dogs in South America…
Distribution of Forfar & Arneil’s Medical Reference books to one hundred third world hospitals…
Piping water from the River Nile to four refugee camps in the north of Uganda…
Distribution of school books to schools in Rwanda…
Feeding Programmes in South Africa.

These are just some of the places the Manacare Foundation is making a difference around the world with your help.
