The Manacare Foundation have launched a great new initiative – The Virtual Volunteering Scheme.
The Virtual Volunteering Scheme allows volunteers to work from the comfort of their home. If you are house-bound, disabled, have a disability or mobility limitation we would love to hear from you! If you are none of the latter we would love to hear from you too!
The Manacare Foundation believe that On-line volunteering will be particularly attractive to people who have mobility limitations or whose personal and family obligations limit their ability to volunteer out of the home. We would love to hear from anyone who has mobility/disability limitations but would love to help our charity. You can help in lot’s of ways!
Virtual Volunteering should grow quickly because it is so flexible; volunteers can offer to work a few hours on a project, or several hours a day, whatever fits.
On-line volunteers do all kinds of tasks, ranging in complexity from writing ‘thank you’ letters, admin, raising funds to building a web site. They generally never meet the people they are helping, but they can have a real impact on the projects they help. All you need is a computer and access to the internet.
We suggest starting out by offering to work on a small project to get a feel for how on-line volunteering fits into your life. Get in touch here: firstname.lastname@example.org
